Going out—whether to buy necessities, to eat out with friends or loved ones, or simply to get to work—hasn’t been as easy or convenient as it once was since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.
To help bring a sense of normalcy back into people’s daily lives, Robinsons Malls has partnered with the Mandaluyong Transport Service Cooperative to address the needs of its shoppers and the commuting public. For those clamoring for better transportation options, a modernized e-jeepney terminal at Forum Robinsons has been set up to serve those commuting along the Forum Robinsons Complex-Kalentong/JRC route in Mandaluyong.

Trips are scheduled at 30- to 40-minute intervals with operations throughout the week, from Monday to Sunday. Practicing the recommended physical distancing, each e-jeep can accommodate a maximum of 13 passengers. As a safety measure required by the local government, the transport group installed plastic barriers between passengers and requires all passengers to sign their safety manifest for proper contact tracing.

The e-jeeps can pick-up passengers along the way, but drop-offs can only be made at designated jeepney stops to minimize delays and help maintain the smooth flow of traffic.

While commuters stand to benefit greatly from the Robinsons Malls and MTSC partnership, it will also provide a boost to jeepney sector that has been affected by the current health crisis. Notably, the e-jeeps also are a big step forward in promoting a more environment-friendly mode of transport, doing their part to minimize pollution on Metro Manila’s roads.
