REskwela Imparts RLove school bags in Novaliches

Within Brgy. Pasong Putik in Novaliches is SaMaPina (Samahan ng Masang Pinagbuklod) Daycare Center, a place that has become an essential partner to low-income working parents who are unable to care for their children during the day.

Through the center’s hard working Child Development Workers, day-care age school children receive not just care for when parents are not around, but also, pre-primary education essential in building foundations for formal education.

Coming from low-income families, these children need support in acquiring much needed school materials that place additional burden to their parents, in spite of the free services provided by the center.

Responding to the call for assistance, RLove, in coordination with Brgy. Pasong Putik, launched REskwela, which is RLove’s flagship project focused on Child Education. In a ceremonial turnover event on March 25, 2024, Robinsons Land Corporation’s CSR Manager Huey Silo and SaMaPina Homeowners Association President Leticia Coteng facilitated the donation of RLove bags to 15 daycare students. The donation will help families cover for the increasing expenses of their children’s education needs.

The launch of REskwela in SaMaPina Daycare Center follows a successful Rehabilitation & Repainting project spearheaded by RLove, in partnership with Robinsons Hotels and Resorts, Robinsons Novaliches and JCI in August 2023.

Prior to the renovation and refurbishment project, the daycare center operated in a weather-beaten barangay edifice that has deteriorated through time. Through the strategic public-private partnership, the day care center was renovated, repainted and restored with efforts in reconstructing the building façade, roofing and learning areas.

New furnishings of upcycled learning desks and learning materials were also donated during the daycare center public opening last year. Additionally, the rehabilitation further maximized room capacity to 80 daycare students.

This rehabilitation project and the launch of R Eskwela demonstrate RLove’s sustained efforts in promoting child education, as it is one of Robinsons Land Foundation’s focus areas.

RLove’s commitment to this advocacy is rooted in the belief that education is the key to empowering every child in order for them to reach their highest potential to become our future productive members of the society.

At a time when there is still a tangible lack of daycare facilities nationwide, RLove’s increasing efforts in providing supplies and learning tools; as well as support in school rehabilitation and construction, is a huge step in the field of education.
