REskwela Imparts School Supply Kits to 300 Children in GenSan

While many youth spent their summer break on vacation, the youth of Brgy Mabuhay in Gen. Santos City joined the Community Teach program, a flagship project of the Barangay’s Sanguniang Kabataan council. Inspired to contribute to social good, these young civic leaders volunteered their time to extend teaching services to public school learners from grades 1-6 levels, who are in need of tutoring assistance in basic learning competencies such as reading, writing and drawing.

In support of Brgy Mabuhay’s Sangguniang Kabataaan and their advocacy on child education, Robinsons General Santos in partnership with RLove, launched its REskwela campaign in the remote village of of Purok 20, in the community’s outdoor basketball court on March 23, 2024. To access the community, volunteers had to take a 40-minute land travel from the Gen. Santos City to the village.

Facilitated by employee volunteers from Robinsons GenSan led by Robinsons GenSan’s Mall Manager Ms. Leomabelle Velandria; and SK youth represented by SK Chairman Hon. Romeo Anthony Geraldez III, REskwela, which is RLove’s flagship project focused on Child Education, launched with a ceremonial turnover of school supplies.

More than 300 elementary student beneficiaries residing in Purok 4, 7, 15, 20 and 30 received school packs, which are composed of notebooks, writing pads, pencils & pens and crayons. The donations are expected to defray costs from acquiring essential school materials that burden low-income families.

The outreach capped with the distribution of free meals by the SK youth.

R Eskwela is RLove’s school assistance program that provides select schools & learning institution with support on the provision of supplies & learning tools that aid the education of students. It also offers support in school rehabilitation, and construction of learning facilities.

RLove believes that education is the key to empowering every child in order for them to reach their highest potential to become our future productive members of the society.
