Robinsons Antique Joins the Adopt-an-Estero Clean-Up Initiative of DENR

June 21, 2024 – In observance of the Philippine Environment Month by virtue of Presidential Proclamation No. 237 signed by Corazon C. Aquino in 1988, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources – Environmental Management Bureau (DENR-EMB) in Western Visayas launches Adopt-an-Estero Water Body Program, an orchestrated clean-up drive in various esteros or water estuaries or inlets around the city.

Answering DENR-EMB’s call for volunteers for the Adopt-an-Estero clean-up drive, Robinsons Antique volunteers mobilized R Kalikasan, RLove’s CSR program upholding environmental sustainability. Through R Kalikasan, Robinsons Antique volunteers, led by Tina Estrada, trooped to their assigned adopted water areas in the city to contribute time and effort in collecting trash and debris that have been washed into the banks of the esteros.

At the end of the drive, employee volunteers accomplished a report that included geo-tagged photos and information like quantities of trash-filled sacks collected and even the weight of solid wastes gathered, for reverting to the bureau. 

Robinsons Antique’s support of DENR-EMB’s environmental programs demonstrates a shared and enduring commitment to achieving environmental sustainability beyond the malls of its property.
