Robinsons Butuan Mobilizes RTulong in the Wake of Flooding

February 2024

Following continuous rains caused by the trough of a low-pressure area in Butuan, the Butuan City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office issued Water Level Flood Alert No. 3 to intensify on-going forced evacuation of residents residing along the Agusan River as the water level reached a critical 3.1-meter level. 23 Barangays or over 22,000 individuals were reported to be affected by the calamity.

Evacuees had little to no belongings with them in temporary evacuation facilities, and had to manage with the limited basic provisions of the Butuan City Social Welfare and Development. Responding to its partner communities in Brgy. Dankias, Robinsons Butuan through RLove, mobilized RTulong relief operations program. With bags of relief goods from Robinsons Supermarket, Employee volunteers trooped to the evacuation center and distributed supplies of rice, canned goods, noodles, powdered coffee, etc. to 100 families.
