Robinsons Gensan Distributes Towels for Fisherfolks of the City

Filipino Fishermen are among the least income earners in the local labor industry. Recognizing the plight of local fishermen, an outreach program activity was organized by the Family Welfare Program (FWP) of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Region VIII – Gen. Santos City Chapter.

With the objective of promoting health and wellbeing, which contributes to the productivity of GenSan’s fisherfolk, FWP sought the help of generous community partners in preparing for the activity.

Responding to the call for support and seeing its role in community building, Robinsons GenSan, through RLove, mobilized the R Sikap Livelihood Program, a flagship platform under Robinsons Land Foundation Inc. Through R Sikap, employee volunteers led by Robinsons GenSan’s Mall Manager Leomabell Velandria, participated in the distribution of face and hand towels to 100 fisher folk beneficiaries.

Complementing the grocery package donated to the fisherfolks and their families, the towels will be useful in defraying costs for purchasing personal items for day-to-day work at sea.
