Robinsons Malls Donates Uniform For MMDA Bike Patrolers
As part of its advocacy to promote bike education and bike safety, Robinsons Malls, in coordination with the National Bicycle Organization (NBO), recently donated 25 sets of uniforms to the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) bike patrol officers.
The lack of available transportation during the start of the pandemic paved way for many Filipinos to choose bicycles as the basic mode of transportation and for essential travel. With this, MMDA has deployed bike patrol officers to ensure the safety of the increasing number of bicycle riders on the road.
"We at Robinsons Malls acknowledge that there is a growing number of bike riders nowadays. To ensure that the bike riding communities are assisted by our MMDA bike patrol officers--our frontliners on the road, Robinsons Malls took the initiative of donating the appropriate uniform suitable for biking," said Mr. Irving L. Wu, RLC Robinsons Malls Director for External Affairs and Operations Support Director.
Robinsons Malls has partnered with the National Bicycle Organization to offer bike lessons at Robinsons Place Manila and Robinsons Metro East. Bike safety lesson is also included to ensure that the riders are ready to be on the road.
Aligned to this Bike Program, Robinsons Malls also caters to the needs of the increasing number of bikers in the country. It now offers free bike parking and repair station in 49 Malls nationwide. The bike repair stations are fully equipped with bicycle repair stand, basic tools and manual pump to help assist bikers with their minor emergency repairs.
Present during the turnover were (from L-R): MMDA Head Bike Lane Program Office BLPO Ponciano A. Salinas, NBO Founder and Director Benedict Camara, MMDA Asst. General Manager for Operations Asec. Roberto T. Almadin, RLC Robinsons Malls Director for External Affairs and Operations Support Director Irving L. Wu, MMDA Traffic Officer (Bike Patrol) Angelie Ramos Villanueva and RLC Robinsons Malls Transport Head Raymie Delos Reyes.
