Robinsons Malls Ormoc Installs Trash Trap to Filter Garbage at Anilao River

In recent years, Anilao River in Ormoc has been part of various river clean-up efforts in the region due to its deteriorating quality. With the Department of Environment and Natural Resources – Environmental Management Bureau (DENR-EMB) of Ormoc at the helm of these initiatives, contributing to rehabilitation efforts has been more convenient for concerned private organizations and individuals.

Seeing the opportunity to help in the cause, Robinsons Malls Ormoc, signed a year-long partnership with DENR-EMB to contribute to the clean-up of Anilao River. The partnership includes the donation of trash traps for installment in strategic areas of the river to filter trash and make garbage collection more convenient. In a ceremonial event attended by Robinsons Malls Ormoc employee volunteers, the trash traps were installed at riverside area of Brgy Cogon in Ormoc City. This effort supports Robinsons Land Foundation’s thrust in achieving Environmental Sustainability.
