Robinsons Novaliches’s Recycling Market

A CSR Project called Recycling Market at Robinsons Novaliches. It started last February 2017 and has continued to run for almost 5 years now. This project is in accordance with Republic Act 9003 or the ECOLOGICAL SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT ACT OF 2000 whereas 
Robinsons Novaliches initiated in coordination with Department of Natural Resources (DENR) and QC Environmental Protection and Waste Management Department. Conducted every last Friday and Saturday of the month. Invitation letters were also sent to Schools and Barangays to help us with the roll-out. 
The objectives of the project are to add/generate funds for donations to "R-LOVE CSR Projects, where 3% of the total sales of the scrap buyers shall be donated to RLOVE Projects in addition to Mall Operations Department sales and to create awareness in promoting and informing the general public/customers/tenants/affiliates of the importance of recycling and its effect in saving the environment. 
As a result we were able to signify discipline associated with the control of waste generation, storage, collection, transfer and transport, processing and disposal in a manner that is in accord with the best principles of public health, economics, engineering, conservation, aesthetics, and other environmental considerations that is also responsive to public attitudes.   
  
With this CSR project, Recycling Market at Robinsons Novaliches, we ensure proper segregation, collection, transport, storage, treatment and disposal of solid waste through the formulation and adoption of the best environmental practice in ecological waste management promoting Environmental Advocacy. 
 
The project strengthen the integration of ecological solid waste management and resource conservation and recovery and retain the primary enforcement and responsibility of solid waste management with local government unit. 

Previously, method on waste disposal are combined residual and recyclable without consideration on segregation. With the project Waste Market at Robinsons Novaliches, we were able to participate with the QC Government's Environmental Waste Recovery and Recycling Project and was awarded "Outstanding partner in the implementation of the City's Recyclables Trading Project.    
    
Recycling Market at Robinsons Novaliches generated a total of Php124,462.67 as of October 2021. Moreover, since 2017, we have recorded approximately 40,000 kilograms of recyclable waste at an average of 10,000 kilograms per year.
